Mars and Saturn are pulling apart from their exact conjunction on August 25. This will likely be a relief as this duo is tense and caustic, though it can also deliver focus and hard work. You’ll still get the benefit of its potential for focus this coming week, less the tremendous tension. Mars/Saturn combined with the New Moon in Virgo at the beginning of last week hopefully helped jolt you forward to make some notable progress in your life.
The Sun shines in Virgo for three more weeks and Venus enters Virgo this week, too. All this energy in the mutable earth sign Virgo calls for practical, virtuous, and efficient actions. Layered over the Virgo Sun this week are numerous highly productive planetary combinations. It’s high time for making or renewing task lists, giving those intentions the works, and then marking them “done.” However, there’s quite a bit of Void Moon time this week, when definitive actions don’t come together (Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday), so plan this powerhouse week carefully to make good use of its offerings.
On Sunday, the last day of August, the Moon joins Saturn, and then a few hours later joins Mars. This is a day for focus, responsibility, and keeping our noses to the grindstone with our individual life agendas.
Monday morning through Wednesday afternoon the Moon shines brightly in Sagittarius. In this sign it colors our world with hope and optimism. A lunar square to Neptune may soften our focus and make us a little dreamy (or spaced out), but the world will still look sunny! Mercury enters Libra and will be there most of September (until the 28th) offering an openness to thoughts and ideas, and easy conversations.
Tuesday the Sagittarius Moon forms a Grand Trine with Jupiter (in Leo) and Uranus (in Aries). This is a fiery, sparkling day that could deliver expansive surprises. Combined with the industrious Virgo Sun, the day is a powerhouse of possibility and high energy to make things happen. Seize this day and make it deliver!
Wednesday the Virgo Sun makes an exact powerful trine to Pluto, offering potential for transformation at best, and energy to get a lot accomplished at least. There’s a four-hour Void-of-Course Moon period mid-day in the Western hemisphere (11:06 AM-3:15 PM Pacific time), so avoid activities then calling for decision making. A lunar trine to Venus in the morning kisses the day with sweetness. At 3:15 Pacific time the Moon goes into Capricorn, bringing gravity and industriousness to this powerful, pragmatic day.
Thursday is the usually turbulent day of the week when the Moon combines with the Uranus-Pluto square. However, the Moon also makes easing aspects with Neptune, Sun, and Saturn, smoothing out the rough edges. All together, the cosmos delivers yet another very productive, amazing day if the offerings are used wisely.
Friday has a long Void-of-Course Moon—the entire work day Pacific time, or afternoon and evening Eastern Time. While these hours are not good for anything requiring decisions, it can still be an industrious day with a lot accomplished as the Sun is in Virgo and the Moon is in Capricorn (until 4:59 PM Pacific Time). This would be a good day to tackle incomplete tasks on your “to do” lists with gusto—or clean up your office. Venus moves into the sign of Virgo tropically—until September 30. See the list of ten things to do with Venus in Virgo at the end of this post.
Saturday and Sunday the Moon is in Aquarius, encouraging get-togethers with friends and being sociable. The Moon makes expansive aspects with Jupiter, Mercury, and Uranus on Saturday, and then bumps into restraint with Saturn Saturday evening. Just in case you’ve been excessive in some way, Saturn will pull you back from the edge. Frustration and agitation may emerge Sunday morning with the Moon-Mars square. This begins another fairly long Moon Void-of-Course period from 10:19 AM-4:47 PM Pacific Time Sunday. This has been one incredibly industrious week if you’ve been in step with the gifts of the heavenly aspects, so take it easy on Sunday. Sunday evening’s energies are soft, sweet, and romantic. Cap this week with pleasure.
The Week in Short:
Sunday: Focus and keep your nose to the grindstone.
Monday: Hope and optimism—and a little dreaming.
Tuesday: Snap! Crackle! Pop! Powerhouse day!
Wednesday: Powerful, industrious day, but a 4-hour Void Moon midday when to avoid decisive actions.
Thursday: Productive amazing day. Edgy with good results.
Friday: Clean up and organize. Industrious day but Void Moon all day—so steer clear of decisive actions and setting things in motion.
Saturday: Meet up with friends and expand your horizons.
Sunday: Take it easy, and have a sweet, romantic evening. Void Moon most of the day.

This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet and before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things do not come together and it is difficult to make decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often do not come together and meetings do not result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. You will more easily get lost or meander if you are trying to get somewhere.
The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
