In the Stars June 28-July 5, 2015…shining light on the astrology of the week: Full Moon

This week, as last week, is colored by opportunities from the Grand Fire Trine that includes Uranus in Aries, Venus and Jupiter in Leo, and the asteroid Pallas Athena (representing strategic thinking and the arts) in Sagittarius. We will be blessed by the pleasures of a close alignment of Venus and Jupiter over the next four months due to Venus turning retrograde July 25.  In addition to an exact Venus-Jupiter conjunction this week on Wednesday, July 1, there will be a second one August 4th and a third on October 25. Be sure to look up and enjoy their close alignment in the night sky. Their sparkling glow visually shows the symbolic benefits of this alignment that amplifies love, beauty, pleasure, and good luck. Finally, there is a fiery, bold Full Moon on Thursday, July 2, that closely aligns with highly charged Pluto and Mars.

The weekend has been laden with the deep emotional stirrings of a Scorpio Moon that arrived Friday morning. It may have been an emotionally stormy weekend. Carve out time for focusing on finances—especially on debts or investments, and take some time Sunday afternoon or early evening for planning the week ahead. The mood lifts Sunday evening when the Moon moves into Sagittarius at 8:21 PM PDT.

Monday and Tuesday are buoyed by the upbeat Moon in Sagittarius that lifts spirits and enables us to see the bright side. The Sag Moon calls for adventure and exploration and beckons us to hike in nature or plan our next trip. Tuesday is loaded with benefic aspects that form a glorious Grand Fire Trine. Stand ready to say “yes” to opportunities that present themselves. The Moon is Void of Course after 11:18 AM PDT Tuesday, so avoid making decisions or setting things in motion definitively after that time.

Action packs Wednesday and Thursday. The Moon is in grounded, practical Cardinal Earth Capricorn. A Full Moon Wednesday pulls the tides and exaggerates emotions. The Moon aligns with Pluto Wednesday evening, as Mars aligns with the Sun, making it a potentially tense and volatile evening, or one for action out of conviction. At the same time Venus is exactly conjunct Jupiter, a great benefic aspect, and in a close trine to Uranus. This is an expansive, fortunate alignment that can create amazing results. Mercury in Gemini produces an active mind and sextiles Uranus, Venus, and Jupiter July 1-5. Brilliant conversations and ideas are possible, so use this inquisitive energy for solutions to problems and for making new discoveries.

The celebration of Independence Day is supported symbolically with the Moon in friendly, detached Aquarius Friday and Saturday, a placement that heralds “justice and liberty for all.” Imagine one brilliant idea for each snap, crackle and pop you hear and see at a July 4th fireworks show. These are great days for meeting new people, hanging out with friends, and making connections.

Sunday morning beckons us to clean up after the holiday partying and put things back in order. The Moon moves into Pisces and calls for a soft, relaxing day and a gentler end to this very bold and dynamic week. Settle in with an inspiring book or movie and end the day with a soothing warm, hot bath.

The Week in Short:
Sunday: Plan the week ahead and attend to finances. The mood lightens Sunday evening.
Monday: Upbeat day for exploration and adventure—or making travel plans. Enjoy a social evening.
Tuesday: A positive “can do” attitude makes things happen. Reach for the stars but hold off on decisions after 11:18 AM PDT. Another good evening for socializing.

Thursday: Brilliant mental energy can deliver good solutions to problems and innovative ideas.
Friday: Expansive thinking abounds. Create and enjoy a pleasant evening.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet and before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it’s difficult to make decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. You will more easily get lost or meander if you’re trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
