In the Stars November 15-22, 2015…shining light on the astrology of the week

Our world has just been rocked by the terrorist attacks in Paris this past Friday the 13th. Mars was conjunct the North Node, a volatile combination. Venus was also near that conjunction, and debilitated from a Vedic/sidereal perspective. This week ahead is the last week of the Sun’s stay in Scorpio tropically, the sign that symbolizes the deep: deep emotion, curiosity, and mystery. A lot of quiet time is needed to ponder the depths, so this week pull back to rest and restore before the sociable Sagittarian season ahead.

Astrologer Tad Mann wrote about the recent New Moon in Scorpio in his enewsletter: “Just as in nature the beautiful leaves begin to become compost during these late autumn days, so our efforts of the year can dissolve and become fertilizer for the new visions and actions that arise in the coming new year, so it is essential to discover and name the directions we wish to become our path, to release missed opportunities or the thoughts we weren’t able to manifest this year and repurpose them to better and more aware use in the months to come. The tasks we are confronting are likely to be intense, to require great precision of thought and action, as this is a time when insanity is closer to the surface than usual, most specifically in the more collective movements in our world. We should therefore remain in touch with what we consider sacred and tread lightly with the profane world around us. This is surely a time for mystical thought and depth of meditation.”  www.atmann.net

The Moon is in Capricorn on Sunday and Monday where it demands hard work and wants to get a lot accomplished. Sunday’s Moon-Pluto conjunction may make the day challenging and unsettling, yet we can harness the energy to face some work that really needs to be done.

Monday sports a relatively flowing morning offering efficient accomplishments; however, after the Moon goes Void-of-Course at 12:53 PM PST things won’t come together so easily. The afternoon is for reading, tidying, or conversing.

Tuesday and Wednesday are days for caring about social concerns. With the violence and terror recently experienced, these days invite social action. Step forward to make a difference in a cause about which you care. Foster care? Climate change? Animal welfare? World peace? Mercury and the Sun are conjunct and then Mercury will move ahead of the Sun until the next Mercury retrograde. This change in order may slow our thinking. Open up to different perspectives.

Neptune is stationary direct on Wednesday, meaning that the planetary symbolism of Neptune, vision and inspiration, as well as potential fog and deception are highlighted. Let’s harness the best of Neptune and say “yes” to sparks of creativity that move and inspire us.

Compassion, creativity, and inspiration are the words for Thursday and Friday, colored by a Pisces Moon. Thursday is punctuated with a visionary Moon/Neptune conjunction, an aspect that calls us to imagine beyond ordinary reality. Go to a symphony concert, or at least infuse your life with beautiful music.

Friday is an expansive, though edgy day. Think big! Friday night call for dancing, or doing one of those now-popular painting classes while enjoying a glass of wine.
A new lunar cycle crowns the weekend with the Moon in Aries. Saturday is an invitation to action. Apply the works and make it happen!

On Sunday the Sun moves into Sagittarius tropically. Time to party!! Reach for the stars and expect the unexpected. The Moon is Void-of-Course beginning 11:16 AM PST so after then flow with the energies of the day and don’t try to push the river. Relax and float. Life is good! The festive holiday season has arrived; set your sails to enjoy it.

The Week in Short:
Sunday: Serious day calling for hard work and facing tasks that need to be done.
Monday: Flowing, productive morning; Moon VoC after 12:53 PM PST, so then take it easy.
Tuesday: Hitch your wagon to a social cause about which you feel impassioned.
Wednesday: Neptune direct: Make a commitment to what inspires you.
Thursday: Be creative and imaginative. Widen your vision.
Friday: Expansive, edgy day. Dance the night away!
Saturday: New beginnings! Get rolling!
Sunday: Expect the unexpected! After 11;16 PST the Moon is VoC so go with the flow and don’t do anything requiring definitive connections or decisions. Get ready for the partying season ahead!

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet and before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it’s difficult to make decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. You will more easily get lost or meander if you’re trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
